Autumn Lecture 2024

Thank you to everyone who attended in person and online our 2024 Autumn Lecture. Dr Leire Olabarria, Egyptology, University of Birmingham took us on a fascinating adventure into the storytelling in Egypt's Middle Kingdom, with an enlightening approach of how there is more to Egypt than funerary objects, and that stories in hieratic offer a glimpse into both the imagination of the Egyptians, but an oral storytelling culture and magic. Was the magic box of the story the one found by Petrie's excavation the one from the story? is it lost to us, or potentially in someone's attic or collection?
